Black Designers Who Debuted Bomb Collections During Fashion Month

We don’t have to reiterate that September is the biggest month of the year for the fashion industry. But when we’re talking about the most exciting collection debuts of the season, February certainly doesn’t play second fiddle. Last month, fashion week events took place in some of the biggest cities in the country, including New York, London, Paris, and Milan. And while they don’t often get the media buzz and acknowledgment, many black designers are among the Rolodex of creatives who debuted Fall Ready-to-Wear collections.

Typically, The Strut Magazine does an extensive report analyzing the state of diversity in the industry during fashion month. But this time around, we want to switch it up and take this opportunity to highlight black designers — some well-established and some new — who released collections that we can’t stop obsessing over.
